Well it took a little longer to get round to do 9DragonsWiki than I was anticipating but I have just completed the update for it and AionOnlineWiki so they are both running MediaWiki 1.13.3. All seems well but as always give me a holla if something breaks!

On a different note hope you like the new theme and logo for AionOnlineWiki! It took me about 3 days to work out how to get the background image to be fluid but I got it and it looks fab I think!

I am in the process of moving the files to a new server. I hope this will increase the download speed as we will be running again on physical hardware and not a VPS like at the moment. I don’t foresee any downtime as i will be keeping both servers operating until the transfer is completed.

I just noticed that all the sites were down. Sorry about this but again this was out of my hands. The host was apparently suffering a DDoS attack but they say all should be back to normal now. If we go down again you no why!

It has been a long time since I last posted anything about what was happening with Darkcry but I have not forgotten about it. Due to the fact that it was a 1.0 release of Elgg i thought it was best to hold off a bit for….

a) To see what the general impression was of the software as a whole.

b) Wait till 1.1 was released to make sure that most of the bugs would have been ironed out before I set it up.

So now we have a 1.1 version of the software and the comments on the whole seem to fairly positive. On a side issue there are still very few themes and no one I can find that commercial make Elgg themes which is a disappointment as I wish the site to look as individual as possible.

I am currently looking around for hosting for the site as I cant seem to get the software running on the existing host and the script kiddies attacks are getting annoying now you im looking at many a cheap VPS to run it on.

Well there we have the latest news on what happening so as and when I find a suitible host I will get the new site up and running. Stay tuned!

I would like to announce that our latest site AionOnlineWiki.com is now live! The site will be focused on all aspects of the the game Aion: The Tower Of Eternity by NCSoft set for release in South Korea later this year and here in the west early 2009. The same features apply to the new wiki as to 9DragonsWiki so I encourage all of you to come over and help to make it the best wiki out there!

Just noticed that Arakkoa is down at the moment and it is apparently a problem with one of the MySQL servers on the hosts end. The site should be up and running soon I hope but this is out of my control. Sorry for any inconvenience caused!

Well here is irony for you! Today is patch day in the USA for World Of Warcraft and our site Arakkoa.com hosts the patches. So I go to try to upload the patches to the server but I keep getting a timeout when trying to log in. So I go and check the hit counter and well I see the problem. Looks like WowInsider .com has linked to the site as well as WowWiki.com and I’m getting more than a few hits which is causing the server load to be so high I cant log in to upload the new patch that everyone wants! Iv been trying in vein for the last 3 hours with no success and with the USA waking up in not to long a time looks like I wont be able to get the new content up for a time. All files are still download-able at the moment. It sure is nice to have so much attention and I am not complaining! Ill do my best to get the content up A.S.A.P. for you lot and will start looking into ways of stopping this sort of issue arising again.

I have just finished applying the MediaWiki 1.13.2 update which includes the bug fixes from 1.13.1 and the security fixes included in this version. All seems to be well with it but as normal please report any issues to me on the Wiki by leaving me a message or email and I will look into it.

I was getting a bit bord with the previous theme for the blog so had a good hunt around today to see what I could find and stumbled on this. Best bit is its free! I still need to do a few edits to it to fit in with what I want it to look like.  Tell me what you think of it!
